Gamini Singla secured All India Rank- 3 in 2021 and she belongs to Anandpur Sahib, Punjab. Gamini completed her BTech in Computer Science Engineering from  Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh. Gamini Singla decided to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and would like to work for the development of the country and the welfare of the civilians; she believes that women can achieve anything with hard work, determination and a positive attitude. She is a resident of Chandigarh. She was a graduate of BTech in computer science but she Opted Sociology as the optional subject for UPSC mains.

Education Qualification of Gamini Singla

Gamini Singla IAS topper completed her primary education such as High school at Anandpur Sahib, Punjab and for senior secondary school, she went to Mount Carmel School. She has completed her B.tech in Computer science Engineering from a very reputed institution called Punjab Engineering College ,Chandigarh in 2019. 

Gamini’s Professor at College Mr. Bhatiya says, “Gamini was the CR of the Class, and she got a job offer during campus placements in Punjab engineering college, but she did not join because she wanted to pursue UPSC civil services.”

She received a placement offer as a Finance Analyst from JP Morgan but she didn’t accept it because she wanted to pursue her childhood dream for the UPSC civil services. In 2019, she participated in various All India Political Party members and also got the title of Director-General of the PECMUN 6.0 and she worked for a 6-month short period at JP Morgan Chase & Co. in 2018.

Gamini Singla IAS Topper has started preparing for the UPSC civil services exam in 2019 right after her graduation and she relied on self-study for her preparation and took help from a coaching institute in Patiala ( unknown name). Becoming an IAS Officer was her childhood dream, so she didn’t give up after her failure in the first attempt due to which she  was doing self – study and preparing at home from 2020 and finally she worked harder and achieved her aim in her second attempt. Gamini Singla is a native from Anandpur Sahib, Punjab and her parents Dr. Alok Singla and Dr Neerja Singla are medical officers in Himachal Pradesh and Gamini’s brother is a graduate of IIT Kharagpur.  Gamini Singla gives all the credit to her family for being so supportive throughout the journey of UPSC. Her family supported her dream of becoming an IAS officer patiently. 

In an interview, Gamini says,” You won’t believe it but my father helped me a lot with my studies. He would read the newspaper and mark things for me so that I could save time. He made sure I wouldn’t miss any important points for the UPSC CSE Prelims or Mains.”
