Dr. Vikas Divyakirti is the creator and a Founder of Drishti IAS, is a well-known figure in the country, celebrated for his impressive achievements and charitable work. His name is famous as a former IAS officer, entrepreneur, educator, and popular presence on social media, he has left a substantial mark on the community and inspired others by his remarkable journey of his successful career.

Dr. Vikas Divyakirti is not only an excellent teacher but also an Author, an excellent student who has cracked his UPSC exam in his first attempt and he is very passionate about his work and the nation. In 1999, he founded an institution named Drishti IAS Academy in Delhi to give simplified coaching for UPSC CSE aspirants. He started providing all the strategies and skills for UPSC aspirants with the right approach and guidance. Initially he has started coaching in the Hindi language so that the aspirants can learn easily about the topics but later the materials were also present in English language. Dr. Vikas Divyakirti was born on 26th December in 1976 in Bhiwani District of Haryana. Vikas Divyakirti belongs to a  middle-class and educated family. Vikas Divyakirti’s Father and Mother were professors at Delhi University and would teach Hindi Sahitya to college students.

Vikas Divyakirti was always a bright student and always knew in his head that he had to serve his nation and achieve his goal. As a student, he would always be involved in his study. He completed his primary education, middle school and high school in Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Haryana and after completing his High school studies, Vikas Divyakirti decided to do a Bachelor of Art (BA) in History at Delhi University and after BA he decided to do his Master’s in art (MA) in Hindi Literature and sociology from Delhi University. He holds a degree in LLB, M.Phil. and a PHD Degree. 

Though Vikas Divyakirti has so many qualifications and he appeared for UPSC in 1996 and cleared it in his first attempt and became an IAS officer and was assigned to the ministry of home affairs but he decided to leave his job and decide to teach the students for UPSC preparation and started his own coaching class, Drishti IAS Academy.

Why Vikas Divyakirti Left the IAS Job and Started Working as a Teacher?

Vikas Divyakirti left an IAS Post and decided to provide a help and right approach for UPSC aspirants.After working for a few months as an IAS Officer, Vikas Divyakirti understood that teaching was something with which he could make an even bigger impact on society by helping the aspirants in their journey of upsc. Hence, he decided to leave his job as an IAS officer and start his own coaching. It was obviously shocking news to his parents and relatives, who were on cloud nine after he cleared the UPSC exam,they were all so disturbed by his decision. ButVikas Divyakirti was persistent towards his dream job, which was teaching. As a result, in 1999, he opened the Drishti IAS coaching centre in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar.
