Tina Dabi ,the Girl who becomes IAS on the very first attempt in the UPSC CSE exam 2015. She achieved Rank 1 in her first attempt and passed the UPSC Civil Services Exam.

She has posted in Haryana Cared, and now she is published in Rajasthan Cared. She has been under guidance of her parents (Mother and Father) who have cracked UPSC Indian Engineering Services.
She has been very trending for her success and love life .Her love story created a buzz on social media platforms. At present, She is the Joint Secretary in the Department of Finance (Tax) in the Rajasthan Government. Her mother supported her a lot during the journey of becoming IAS officer, and she was the pillar of strength during her long exhausting journey. Tina Dabi IAS accomplished a remarkable win by clearing the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) exam on her very first attempt with an impressive score of 52.49 percent at the age of 22 in 2016. Initially, she had considered pursuing a commerce degree, but her passion for the UPSC exam led her to change her path and she followed her aim so desperately. 

She was born genius as she secured 100% in Political Science and History in her class 12th standard ICSE Board exams and was the ‘Student Of The Year’  from Lady Shri Ram College.

During the exam preparation she followed the 9-12 hours study plan consistently, and she shared the time table with the aspirants to help them achieve their career.

Tina Dabi – Preparation Strategy for UPSC CSE

Tina Dabi has divided the preparation study  time into three slots suitably spread over the day so that you get enough time for studies. Studying continuously is not recommended as you can get bored and tired easily. It is important to get break time as well so that you can recharge and focus better on your preparation .

Tina Dabi suggests the slot usage as follows:

Slot 1: Big topics (early morning, more energy and focus)

Slot 2: Medium length topics as this is only for 2 hours

Slot 3: Revision of topics studied previously. Tina Dabi recommends revision of topics at least three times.
Her journey into Civil Services began when she was at her teen age  just 18 as she joined RAU’s IAS Study Circle in New Delhi.

In 2015 during an interview, Tina Dabi said that she wanted to be a role model for girls who want to clear the UPSC exam in their first attempt. “I did expect I would make it to the list because my exams went well, but number 1 – that’s something that I would call the stuff of dreams,” Tina dabi said.

Tina Dabi had opted for Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) as her optional for the UPSC mains exam. She scored 299 marks in her optional subject.

Tina Dabi cleared the Prelims cut-off through the SC category. However, the final merit list was based on the score in her Mains and Interview round. The prelims, being a qualifier, did not affect the final merit list.

Tina Dabi- Current Posting and Salary

Currently Tina Dabi is on maternity leave. Before that she was posted as female district Collector of Jaisalmer. In Rajasthan the district collector’s salary ranges from between Rs 1.34 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh. It is possible that Tina Dabi gets this salary. Tina Dabi is the 65th collector of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer. Before this, she was posted in the finance department of the Rajasthan government. At that time, she used to get Rs 56100 per month.

Tina Dabi has lived in Delhi and Bhopal. Her mother comes from Maharashtra, and her father comes from Madhya Pradesh. They both were in Government Service: Indian Telecom Service (father) and Indian Economic Service (Mother). Tina Dabi’s mother retired from the Service. Her retirement was voluntary. She has been to Carmel Convent School in Bhopal, and later she completed her Bachelor’s in Political Science. She is having one sibling sister. After divorce from Athar Amir Khan, she recently tied the knot with IAS Pradeep Gawande. Pradeep is 39 year.

Tina Dabi was born on 9 November 1993 in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Tina Dabi’s father’s name is Jaswant Dabi, who is working as General Manager in BSNL Company. Tina Dabi’s mother’s name is Himani Dabi, who is a retired IES officer. Tina Dabi’s younger sister’s name is Riya Dabi and Riya secured All India’s 15th rank in the UPSC 2020 exam.

Ria Dabi, the younger sister of 2015 IAS Topper Tina Dabi followed in the footsteps of her elder sister and also cracked the UPSC exam on her first attempt.
Ria dabi, who also  did her graduation in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram like her sister, Delhi University in 2019, started preparation for UPSC right after her graduation. She cleared UPSC CSE 2020 with flying colours and secured an all-India rank of AIR-15.

Like her elder sister IAS Tina Dabi, Ria Dabi’s vision was also clear from the beginning that she has to become an IAS officer. That’s why Ria Dabi studied 12th in the humanities stream and obtained a BA degree with Political Science as a subject. After completing graduation, Ria Dabi started preparing for the UPSC exam from Vajiram & Ravi Coaching Center in Delhi. She managed to do self-study for 10 hours daily after coaching.
With proper guidance, precise strategy, and hard work, She not only cleared the Civil Services Examination in his very first attempt but also secured the All India 15th Rank.

After clearing UPSC CSE in 2015 ,while training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Tina Dabi met Athar Amir Khan, the second-ranked IAS officer of the 2015 batch. During the training, their closeness increased and their love blossomed. On 20 March 2018, Tina Dabi had a court marriage with IAS officer Athar Aamir Khan. After this, on April 7, 2018, both of them got married traditionally in Pahalgam, Kashmir. However in the year 2021, he got divorced from Athar Aamir Khan. Their marriage caused quite a stir, but unfortunately, it didn’t last long. They both decided to divorce, and their divorce was finalized in a family court in Jaipur on August 10, 2021.

The two filed for divorce with mutual consent at the family court in November, according to reports. Now, Tina Dabi is posted as the joint secretary in the finance department in the Rajasthan government.

With Pradeep Gawande,  friendship soon blossomed into a romance and the pair got married on April 22, 2022 in front of a picture of Dalit rights activist and one of the fathers of Indian Constitution, BR Ambedkar.

The marriage raised many eyebrows as this was Dabi’s second marriage and Gawande was 13 years older than her. Pradeep Gawande is an IAS officer of Maharashtra batch of 2013 . Pradeep Gawande secured the All India 478th Rank in the UPSC 2012 Exam. Her second marriage is planned with Pradeep Gawande, an IAS officer working in Rajasthan and  before becoming an IAS officer, Pradeep was a doctor.
